Bio-Rad Bio-Plex® 200 multiplex assay system with high-throughput fluidics (HTF).
This is a suspension array system that permits the analysis of up to 100 biomolecules in a single sample of 25 microlitres or less (in case the sample is diluted). This instrument is used for the simultaneous detection of multiple analytes (cytokines, chemokines, growth factors etc) in the same sample, in a single well of a 96-well plate, in about 4 hours. The number of analytes currently available in the same assay is 42, however, this instrument is capable of detecting up to 100 targets. This instrument greatly benefits our productivity, and that of the IDM as a whole. While located in the CIDRI laboratory, it is used as core equipment, as several other members of the IDM make use of such instruments via collaboration. Those wishing to use the instrument are required to participate in the free training provided by Bio-Rad once a year, for the life of the instrument. Users who have not attended the training, will not be allowed to use the equipment unattended, but will be aided by the CIDRI laboratory.
